Fix Valorant Error VAN9003 - Enable Secure Boot and TPM 2.0
If you are staring at a VAN9003 error, your PC's security settings are currently blocking Riot Vanguard from launching. This is frustrating because it usually means your system is running in an older boot mode that Valorant no longer accepts. You need to adjust your motherboard firmware to bring your system up to current Windows 11 requirements.
Why this happens
Riot Vanguard requires Secure Boot and TPM 2.0 to be active to ensure your system integrity. If your PC is set to Legacy BIOS mode or these security features are disabled in your firmware, the game will refuse to start.
What you will need
You will need to restart your computer and access your BIOS or UEFI menu. Have your keyboard ready to press the required key immediately upon power-up.
Steps
-
01Press the Windows key + R, type
msinfo32, and press Enter to check your current BIOS Mode and Secure Boot State. -
02Press the Windows key + R, type
tpm.msc, and press Enter to confirm your TPM status. -
03Restart your computer and immediately tap your BIOS entry key (usually
Delete,F2,F10,F11, orF12). -
04Navigate to your Boot settings, set the Boot Mode to
UEFI, and disableCSMorLegacysupport. -
05Go to the Security or Advanced tab and set
Secure BoottoEnabled. -
06Locate the
TPM,AMD fTPM, orIntel PTTsetting and set it toEnabled. -
07Press
F10to save your changes and exit the BIOS, which will automatically restart your computer. -
08Launch Valorant to verify the game now proceeds to the main menu.
