Fix High Ping Spikes and Lag in The Finals
If your ping is jumping to 150ms or higher, you are likely dealing with packet loss or an overloaded network connection. It is incredibly frustrating to freeze mid-fight, but we can usually stabilize your connection by cutting out background noise and forcing a network refresh.
Before you start
If a new season for The Finals just launched, high ping is often due to server load that will resolve on its own in a few days. If the issue persists outside of season launches, follow these steps to optimize your local connection.
Network prerequisites
For the best results, you need an Ethernet connection. Wi-Fi is prone to packet loss and is the most common cause of consistent ping spikes in competitive shooters.
