Fix Windows 11 Printer Not Printing - 4 Proven Solutions
You click print, the job vanishes into the void, and your printer just sits there like it has no idea what you want. This usually happens when Windows hangs on a stuck print job or gets confused about which device you are actually using.
Why this happens
Windows print services can get jammed by a single corrupted file or a driver that stopped communicating correctly. Windows also has a tendency to auto-manage default printers, which often directs your files to the wrong destination.
Steps
-
01Go to Settings > Bluetooth and devices > Printers and scanners, select your printer, click Open print queue, and uncheck 'Use printer offline' under the Printer menu.
-
02Press Win+R, type
services.msc, right-click 'Print Spooler', and select Stop. -
03Navigate to
C:/Windows/System32/spool/PRINTERS, delete all files inside this folder, then return to services to start the 'Print Spooler' again. -
04In Settings > Bluetooth and devices > Printers and scanners, disable 'Let Windows manage my default printer' and manually set your device as the default.
-
05If the issue persists, remove the printer in Settings, open
devmgmt.msc, uninstall the device under 'Print queues', and restart your PC to trigger an automatic driver reinstall.
