Fix Marvel Rivals Crashing - Driver Updates & File Verification

It is frustrating when your match cuts out or the game just vanishes to the desktop right when you are in the middle of a play. This is usually caused by outdated graphics drivers or corrupted game files failing to load assets properly during a session.

Why this happens

Crashes often occur when your GPU drivers are behind on updates or when specific installation files become corrupted, causing the game engine to hang.

Steps

  1. 01
Perform a full restart of your PC to clear memory and kill stuck background processes
  2. 02
Download and install the latest GPU drivers from your manufacturer website: nvidia.com/drivers, amd.com/support, or intel.com/drivers
  3. 03
For Steam users: right-click Marvel Rivals in your library, go to Properties > Installed Files, and select Verify integrity of game files
  4. 04
For Epic Games users: click the three dots next to the game, select Manage, and click Verify
  5. 05
Open Discord settings, go to Game Overlay, and toggle off Enable in-game overlay
  6. 06
Exit any third-party background applications like the Nvidia app from your system tray
  7. 07
Navigate to your game installation folder, right-click the Marvel executable, and select Run as administrator
  8. 08
If the game continues to crash, perform a clean uninstall and reinstall of Marvel Rivals through your game launcher
