Fix Marvel Rivals Crashing - Driver Updates & File Verification
It is frustrating when your match cuts out or the game just vanishes to the desktop right when you are in the middle of a play. This is usually caused by outdated graphics drivers or corrupted game files failing to load assets properly during a session.
Why this happens
Crashes often occur when your GPU drivers are behind on updates or when specific installation files become corrupted, causing the game engine to hang.
Steps
-
01Perform a full restart of your PC to clear memory and kill stuck background processes
-
02Download and install the latest GPU drivers from your manufacturer website: nvidia.com/drivers, amd.com/support, or intel.com/drivers
-
03For Steam users: right-click Marvel Rivals in your library, go to Properties > Installed Files, and select Verify integrity of game files
-
04For Epic Games users: click the three dots next to the game, select Manage, and click Verify
-
05Open Discord settings, go to Game Overlay, and toggle off Enable in-game overlay
-
06Exit any third-party background applications like the Nvidia app from your system tray
-
07Navigate to your game installation folder, right-click the Marvel executable, and select Run as administrator
-
08If the game continues to crash, perform a clean uninstall and reinstall of Marvel Rivals through your game launcher
