Fix Far Far West Could Not Connect to Evil Raptor Network
You are trying to jump into a lobby but keep getting hit with the 'Could not connect to Evil Raptor network' error. It is frustrating when you just want to play, but this usually happens because of a handshake failure between your local connection and the game servers.
Why this happens
The error is typically caused by public matchmaking instabilities, local network routing issues with your ISP, or corrupted game files left behind after a recent update.
Steps
-
01First, check the official Evil Raptor Discord or Steam community announcements to ensure the servers are not actually down for everyone.
-
02Stop using public matchmaking; instead, open your in-game session panel, copy your session code, or use the Steam overlay to invite your friends directly via Shift+Tab.
-
03If you are using a VPN, disable it completely and relaunch the game.
-
04Switch your DNS to Cloudflare: Go to Settings/Network and Internet/Properties, select Edit under DNS server assignment, set Preferred to 1.1.1.1 and Alternate to 1.0.0.1, then save and restart your PC.
-
05If you have mods installed, remove all .pak files from the game folder to test if the game runs in a vanilla state.
-
06Perform a Steam file check: Right-click Far Far West in your Steam library, select Properties, go to Installed Files, and click Verify integrity of game files.
